Problem

Pharmaceutical company looking to improve drug development process by incorporating digital strategies.

Assessment

Kinders created detailed roadmap of existing discovery and development process, including existing databases, legacy systems, data flow between systems, product portfolio, and other key pieces. It then provided a set of strategic options as to how aggressively key parts of these processes can be transformed using new technologies to achieve the business objectives.

Outcome

Based on the political and budgetary realities of the company at the time, few areas were prioritized for digital transformation for the two leading pipeline molecules under development. Existing solutions in the market were explored and recommended by Kinders according to several factors including best fit with the problem, data architecture and interoperability with existing systems, functionalities, and total implementation cost.

Case Study 2

Problem

Medical device company looking to enhance implantables business with wraparound digital solutions that improve overall offerings to providers and patients.

Assessment

Kinders reviewed the product portfolio and the underlying technology and indications for those products. Kinders then engaged the medical community to understand the effectiveness level for those devices, current clinical management gaps for the recipients, and what solutions can be value-add for those patients. Kinders then evaluated client capabilities and appetite for solutions beyond devices.

Outcome

Based on the device company's capabilities and the prioritized unmet needs of the patients, practical digital solutions were designed and developed by Kinders.  The digital solutions created new supportive services for patients with devices, simplified clinician workflow, created new revenue opportunities. The designed solutions took advantage of key lessons to date about healthcare data and interoperability, patient and provider engagement issues, and workflow aspects of introducing new digital solutions.

Case Study 3

Problem

Consumer product company with significant healthcare assets seeking digital approaches to enhance presence with customers and boost revenues.

Assessment

Kinders evaluated the patient profiles of users of the company's various healthcare products and identified key common traits and needs across patient groups using those products. Kinders prioritized those health needs and identified adjacencies to the existing product line using digital solutions, A set of possible digital enhancers were proposed with supporting data architecture, use cases, and business models.

Outcome

Client selected opportunities based on a scorecard that incorporated criteria such as revenue potential, overall synergy levels, key risks, and more. The new solutions aim to address adjacent needs of the patients and improve health literacy about their conditions. The solutions provide feedback to patients and providers, affect beneficial behavioral modifications, and make current offerings easier to use.
